On Saturday the 13rd of July 2013 participants from 10 cities of North Rhine-Westphalia met in Oberhausen to present their projects of 2013. The 240 youngsters participating in the ewoca programme in 2013 have plenty of ideas for this summer: They will renovate youth centers in Lithuania, Turkey and Germany and create places for encounters in France and Italy. In Romania they will build a nature trail, in Cyprus they will erect a monument of peace and in Belarus they even build a traditional sauna.
Dr. Angelica Schwall-Düren, Minister for Federal Affairs, Europa and the Media also complimented on the engagement of the youngsters. “The youths at the ewoca§ workcamps bring the European idea to life. Europe does not just happen in commissions in Brussels, but for many is appreciable only in concrete experiences close by”, Minister Schwall-Düren emphasised.
