ewoca³ takes part at the German Child and Youth Welfare Day (DJHT) in Berlin — and that even in several ways: As part of the special programme Europe project officer Katharina Teiting informed about the project. In addition, ewoca³ was represented at the stand of de Joint Initiative of Providers of Political Education for Youth (GEMENI). „We are especially glad about the fact that we were invited as a best practice example at the Youth in Action programme”, sagt Katharina Teiting.
As a part of the ewoca³ network professionals from 13 european countries organise international youth encounters on the topic “Education for Sustainable Development„. Three partners from three countries work together for three years. In this time they are organising three work camps — one in each country involved. At the twelve international workcamps of 2014 about 250 young people will participate.
ewoca³ ist a project of IBB e.V., funded by the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Stiftung Mercator. At the moment it is in its second funding phase. 2015 it is planned that the programme will start into a third three-year cycle. German Child and Youth Welfare Day (DJHT) is Europe’s largest forum for child and youth welfare policy, theory and practice. From 3 to 5 June, more than 200 events took place in 30 meeting rooms. At the accompanying trade fair international organizations have presented their work on the “Marketplace Europe”.
