Canoe Tour
The trip was in Ems, from Telgte to Münster Handorf. It took from 11:30 to 13:45.
All the participants participated, but not all the teamers did it.The most of the canoes overturned one or more times. The first canoe to overturn was the canoe of Salvador, Till and Inga; they tasted the firsts trees.
The canoe of Vicent,Ruben,Leon and Aida overturned six times. One time Leon tried to take a piss and his canoe overturned and he lost his rowing 4 or 5 times.
We think that it was funny, but my canoe overturned one time and I was not felling good, cold water and too difficult to swim in that water. At the end we were tired but I enjoyed the noon.
Trip to Münster
We went by bus from Tecklenburg out to the train station in Lengerich. From there by train to Münster. There we all got a bike and have made a tour around the Promenade, which lasted one hour and a half. After that we were in a small group in Münster walked around or by bike to 17:00o´clock. Münster has many small shops ( ice cream shops, fish shops, clothes, etc ..), but also large halls, where Saturn, Shoe Stores, Smoothie booths and so on. There is also a beautiful cathedral, where you can take free tours with. Behind the castle is a botanical garden, which we did not visit, but people told us that the garden is very nice. The weather was also nice and warm.
Musical
We were on Saturday, the 1.8.15 at the open air theater in Tecklenburg, in the musical Zorro. We were all really excited to see how it is. Although it was in German and some songs in Spanish, but somehow we did understood the jokes. The musical play lasted 3 hours with a short break. The musical Zorro was funny and nice.
Spanish evening
Yesterday was the Spanish evening. We started with some games on the grass, followed by a watermelon-eating-competition. We played a couple of more games, one of them a traditional one played in the towns by the youth, also known as “Churro va!”, but people didn’t feel in the mood of jumping on each others backs, so it was not finished!
The dinner was amazing and the participants and teamers enjoyed the dinner and the party.
The menu card of the dinner was:
-Patatas bravas
-Jamon,fuet,queso
-Tortilla de patata
As main dish Albondigas with sauce.
-Sangria to drink
-Bunuelos y torrijas for dessert with vanilla ice cream and chocolate.
Later the party continued with Spanish music and all the people started to dance and sing until the end.

Return to the Camp
After six days in the hall and school, we return to the camp after the storm.
We could not be there because of the danger of rain.
Currently, there is no bad with weather, let´s hope it does not rain more and enjoy even more of this camp.
Kitchen team

Fresh food every day
For the whole period in the EWOCA camp the Care group prepares the food. Every day the menu consists of healthy products like vegetables, fruits and everyone takes part in the preparation. Inga, who is one of the teamers, helps the participants giving them ideas and observing the cooking process. She shares that they are doing their best and prefer fresh food than fast one.
Tecklenburg
Omis Eingemachtes: Walking in the center of the mountain town Tecklenburg a lot of tourists visit Omis Eingemachtes. It is a small shop full with interesting things – candies, different types of tea, champagne, postcards, spices and even soaps. The female part of the visitors could not leave the shop without buying from the soaps, produced with sheep milk. Every soap has a specific odor and is useful for people with sensitive skin. Food in the shop is prepared in farmhouses and in Westphalian region. The owner of the store Kristel Gentrup, shares that tourists buy mostly tea and traditional German sausages.
The museum of dolls in Tecklenburg
Why is it worth visiting?
It is one of the most valuable collections of dolls in Westphalia and you can find different types of toys along the recent history and check the evolution of them and compare them with the nowadays toys. The oldest dates from 1875. Besides dolls the museum shows doll`s houses and other toys around dolls.
It also reflects the local history where you can see some furnitures used by farmers and people of the middle-class in former times, six paintings of the painter Otto Modersohn (1864 – 1943) as well as the complete representation of the production of linen which formerly was very important for the economy in Tecklenburg.
Most of the dolls were collected by Ute Botsch from Münster, who found them everywhere in
Germany in the sixties. She completed the collection by other toys, found on loft and sales, sometimes in a very bad state, sometimes very well conserved. Since November 1st 2003 the exhibition has been represented in the former museum of local history.
We have had the opportunity to ask some people in the street about the museum, but some of them were really busy and had to leave and other 3 have never been to the museum, although one of them is living in Tecklenburg for 15 years!

TV Team visited the Camp
Yesterday the TV came to the camp to know what we were doing, what the project is about… They filmed the while they , the building group and a part of the gym. They interviewed some participants and teamers. At the lunch time the TV has gone.It was very interesting.
Interview with Salva
Salvador Martinez Manzano is 37 years old. He works in a primary school in Spain as a teacher. He has developed different international projects within the Youth in Action programme throughout the association Opendoors in Quart de Poblet (Valencia). For a 2nd year he is one of the teamers of Spanish group taking part in EWOCA 2015.
How did you get to participate in the Ewoca project? And for how long are you in Ewoca?
I know Ralf, and we are friends for years. After a long time, we got in contact again and he talked to me about the Ewoca project he was working in. As I was working as a volunteer in my Association Opendoors with youth and European projects, we quickly came to the idea of working together again. I have developed several youth exchanges before and we worked together very well. I always have a lot of fun and learn a lot with him.
In Ewoca, this is the first year of the second project in which we participate, so it´s the second time that we come to Germany with Ewoca.
So, you have been to Germany before… How and Why? Did you like the experience?
Years ago I participated in an European programme called EVS (European Voluntary Service). At that time I was learning the German language and was also volunteer in a youth association in Quart de Poblet. I loved to work with young people, so I found fantastic the idea of coming to live to Germany in exchange to working in a social project with the youth. For this I lived 9 months in Westerkappeln and worked in a youth center in Lotte. I got to know many interesting people from different countries and from Germany. I also learnt many things about the language and the culture in Germany and the way of working here in the youth field. I did what I liked for free (in exchange of working and learning) and that´s how I met Ralf too. Nice memories from many people and experiences come to my mind from that time… and the story goes on! so… Long life to Ewoca!
